The design and development of adhesive reactor

Abstract

A 90-litre/batch reactor was conceived, designed and developed in FIIRO. The reactor consisted of agitator, the reactor vessel, the steam jacket and the control panel. The reactor was found to perform effectively when tested with adhesive formulation with a good radial distribution of heat and its thermal efficiency was 92.3%. The reactor developed will boost the production of adhesive by small-scale entrepreneurs who cannot afford the expensive imported ones.
